Perhaps I had better rethink my attitude... it is just that those witnesses are always thinking that they have the right to take over our lives and our relationships.
I just gotta learn to relax a bit.

My heart goes out to you. I am in a similar situation but I guess that I harbor a very selfish and bad attitude as my children are my children. I gave birth to them and in a crisis I am the mother. Friends should always be there to support but to not take over or (if need be) take one of them home to recooperate and leave me standing there.. That is just plain control. If they can not have children they can adopt.
It is wonderful that they love your daughters and drop everything in a crisis but they need to know their place.

while i was in walmart, picking up my meds from the pharmacy, i happened to run into some witnesses.
they were waiting for their meds.
my youngest daughter was standing a few feet back, so i yelled to her "come on over here and stand in the apostate line".
How old is your youngest daughter? How did she take being called over like that? If she is a teen I bet that she was just fuming. They can not get her to shun you unless she is baptized, right??

ok here's the plan: i am planning on writing the elders a letter stating my concerns over issues such as 607 bce, un, their de-emphsis on jesus.
i am a major techo freak, i have spy camaras with color and sound, webcams, a cell phone with 512mb of memory that can take video's with sound and high quality tape recorders.
i am having car troubles right now, so the elders are going to come over to my house to meet.
ooops, I almost forgot... their newest light (probably because of the increased apostasy) now allows divorcing a mate due to his/her apostate stand. There is not a scripture in the bible for that !!!!!
However, a sister can be married to a drinking, drugging , physically abusive man for years and I mean a man that also beat his own children senseless as well as his wife and they are told that if they seperate from them then they , the innocent party is held blood guilty if the abuser has relations with anyone else and if the new system comes while this is going on then the children will die.... forever.
However, if he kills one of his own children then they can happily be resurrected. Those bastards are insane!!!!! This new light of divorce based on apostacy is going to be their biggest downfall yet as tens of thousands have been put through the above abuse scenario and still hung on to this stupid belief system however this makes a mockery of their years of tribulation.
I hope that they all burn in hell.

Please, please ask them why they claim that a baby born without having had the opportunity to have the breath of life will never get resurrected. Even when the baby is full term such as in an accident with the umbilical cord before the birth. Yet it is considered a life in utero in the scriptures. Also, Jah says that he knows us completely from the very second of conception.
That is something that I want to have explained to me!!

I have a question... since I joined about 6 weeks or so ago I have noticed people joining almost every day for a while. Is that always the case or has things been much more active within the past few months. In other words do you think that the people are hearing the REAL truth and coming to these sites in greater numbers than ever before.

a newbie poster reminded me that jw's considering an exit may not be fully informed of their choices.
what is life like on the outside, and is such a life worth following?.
i'll post a summary of my lifestyle and choices in a minute, but i thought i'd at least get the thread started.
I always look forward to reading your posts as they are so thought provoking and so reasonable.
I am going to give some thought to these questions and try to make some sense of my own feelings and then post a reply later on.

it's hard to know where to begin, so i'll just... begin.. i had my first encounter with jw in high school when my now ex-husband moved into our small town.
(you're doing the math already, aren't ya?
:) ) after finding out he was a jw, i did a little bit of reading into it, which he discouraged... told me that that stuff is "apostate" (i had no idea what that meant) and that he'd give me stuff to read.
